Held annually on Kaurna Country, Illuminate Adelaide is South Australia’s brightest celebration of art, light, music, food and technology bringing late nights, bright lights, and big adventures.
From 02 - 20 July, the best and boldest luminaries from across the globe set loose across the city to create an invitation to experience something new. Something breathtaking. Something exciting.
Well-worn streets, hidden gems, and cultural icons are transformed into a city-wide spectacle of free and ticketed events daring the curious to shake off the winter blues and rekindle a sense of wonder.
The innovative program boasts immersive experiences and Adelaide exclusives in a range of ticketed and free events across the city including an all-new incarnation of Illuminate’s renowned takeover of Adelaide Botanic Garden with Night Visions and world premiere drone and light takeover of Adelaide Oval with stadium spectacular Horizons. Illuminate’s free program of dozens of installations, projection works and live performances City Lights will span the length of the city centre for 17 dazzling nights, while its electric music program features genre-defying artists every weekend including electronic duo Kiasmos, celebration of experimental music Unsound Adelaide, as well as one-night only music takeover of the city’s most iconic venues with Supersonic.
